Erin Bishop

Owner, Principal Planner

Erin began working in wedding & event planning in 2005 & founded Filosophi Events in 2010. Erin was the recipient of the Industry Achievement Award at the Professional BC Wedding Awards in 2013, as well as the winner for Best Wedding Event Planning in 2013, 2014 and 2016.

Starbucks vanilla lattes, 'accidental' shopping sprees, vampire weekend: these are a few of Erin's favorite things. Although her Instagram feed provides evidence to support the title of crazy cat (and dog!) lady, it also proves that the only really crazy thing about Erin is her crazy-amazing talent for event planning. Not only was our wedding gorgeous, the service that we received from Erin was above and beyond sensational during the entire process. 

Erin is funny, creative & laid back. She made us feel like we were old friends even before we had met. It is rare that someone can make a complete stranger feel like home within minutes. Corinne Schelle

Principal Planner

Corinne began working in wedding and event planning in 2008 and joined Filosophi Events at its inception in 2010.

Corinne is an angel sent from the wedding planning gods :).  From the moment we met, I knew we would have the best party possible for *us*; Corinne really took the time to get to know us, and every suggestion she sent our way was perfectly tailored for our unique, non-standard wedding, needs.  We didn't worry about a thing.  She was so organized, but not in an uptight way that would be annoying; more like a secret organization nijna! Our wedding reception was the best party we've ever been to, and we have Corinne to thank for that 100%.  Also, she loves our pets, is a cat/dog whisperer, and shares our favourite hobby (wine), which made working together even better.  Her million watt smile brings joy to our lives! Erica McKeddie

Principal Planner

Erica has been working in wedding planning since 2008, and ran her own planning company before being recruited into joining the Filosophi Events team in 2012. Erica was the winner for Best Wedding Event Planning at the Professional BC Wedding Awards in 2012 and 2015.

Kira Davis

Event Planner

Kira has been working in event planning since 2009, and ran her own planning company before being recruited onto the Filosophi Events team in 2012.

Kira is amazing - so completely professional and thorough. I think what some vendors forget is that for most brides their wedding is the first time that they have had to plan such a huge event and for many there are things that we just don't know to ask. With Kira, she has so much experience and was able to get me thinking about every little detail. The result: my perfect day! Even though we had a few hitches (my bridesmaid's dress ripping up the back 5 minutes before entering the reception, one of the speakers being late for the ceremony, etc) Kira handled everything without me having to worry about a thing! She was able to put together exactly what I had envisioned and more! Having her there to make sure everything would go exactly as I planned was worth every penny! Kira was easy to approach, would answer any question I had, and, most importantly, was there whenever there was a hiccup in the plans. I can't thank Kira enough! She is the reason my wedding was more perfect that I could've ever imagined!”

Rebecca Vandekleut

Event Planner

Rebecca began working with Filosophi as an event day assistant and was immediately recognized as a natural for event planning. Her work ethic, genuine charm and calm nature led to her being promoted ahead of the pack to join the lead planning team in 2014.

Short story? Rebecca made us look good. Long story? Everything Rebecca did was to help keep us organized and minimize our stress leading up to, and on, the big day. From the fabulous briefing meeting where she took the time to get to know us and understand what we were looking for, to the timeline to the vendor organization and her responsiveness with helpful tips along the way, Ali and I were confident we were in excellent hands. Rebecca gave us the chance to catch our breath and keep calm about the wedding in spite of our hectic work schedules. Her timeline for the day of was perfect. Everyone knew where to be when so we never felt like we were scrambling or falling off track. Having Rebecca there to coordinate setup and generally keep the day running smoothly ensured that not only could Ali and I focus on enjoying and remembering the day, but our family and our guests could as well. Like the boy scouts, whose credo is to always be prepared, you could tell Rebecca was ready for anything. Her handy tool belt saved me from waving to walk down the aisle with mud stains on my dress and her sense of humor kept everyone at ease. If we had to do it all over again, we wouldn't have done it any differently. We literally tell anyone who asks that hiring Rebecca was probably the best decision we made during the wedding planning process."

Shirley Glua

Event Planner

Shirley started off on the client side of things, and after hiring Filosophi to plan several events for her then employer Lululemon, Filosophi wanted to keep her and recruited her to hop the fence from client to colleague in 2015.

Creative, fun, a nimble problem solver, and an all around top-notch person - these are just a few of the (many!) words we would use to describe Shirley! Not only is she incredibly professional to work with, but her personality makes every step of the wedding planning journey fun and enjoyable. We love how she remembered every single detail, especially the ones that were important to us, so in the end our wedding was perfect, very "us", and had all the little things covered to make it a memorable event for ourselves and our guests.
